I can recommend a website called http://www.biggreensmile.com. Chloe gets "friendly" cleaning products and toothpaste from them. You have to pay a bit for delivery but it's quick and they have much more to offer than Tesco.

Thankyou v. much:-). Was fascinating to listen to all the other versions of it and to play around with the folk song structure. An excellent idea. At some point I'm going to email the man himself and see what he thinks of it.
Regarding Ogg downloads, I originally intended to make a statement by *only* offering oggs. Given my girlfriend's windows 7 laptop can't cope with them out of box I'm glad with hindsight that I relented from my obstinacy:-).

This is a beautiful version of the Free Software Song - I couldn't be happier! It was a little ironic that I initially used the Flash player to listen to the song but it's fantastic you offer a ogg download.

Thanks. I know some people are against animal husbandry full stop but I really like the sound of what you just described. The animals are here and so are we so why not do something to our mutual advantage... I still have this feeling that I couldn't slaughter an animal myself though. Am I just a squeamish wimp I wonder?
If they actually get a better life than they would in the wild I can see there's a trade there albeit a rather grizzly one. Something in me longs for a day where we keep them for the fertilizer etc but don't kill them. That would require some modifications to our capitalist system I think!

My parents used to keep pigs when I was growing up. Did you know, a sow can have 2 litters a year and each litter can be up to 12 piglets. They are quite a commitment!

My parents kept one sow as a pet, but farmed the offspring to sell meat to the village and stock up our freezer. The pigs were free range and well looked after - they had plenty of mud, walnut trees and shelter so I would say as happy as possible.

We used to feed the pigs leftover food scraps and bones - they eat everything and love it. But we had a rule, where we wouldn't feed them our leftovers if it was pork - just seemed wrong!

That's miserable dude... It's the sort of thing that'll make a great anecdote - when it's warmed up in July!

"I just don't dig on swine, that's all."

I was thinking the snow was beautiful, but then a avalanche occurred on our roof with broke our guttering and then the cold froze our pipes which resulted in our boiler packing up. So, I've sent snow to Coventry (so to speak).

It takes time. I had two pieces of cheese last year and one pork chop (!) the year before but I think I've cracked it now. Eventually it just doesn't look like food anymore so no temptation!
